Burning up to 850 Watts for a minimum of 20 minutes until my sleep timer kicks back in. Lo and behold my computer has still been waking up daily for months and I just noticed again. I thought I had fixed this months ago by disabling the task via Win+S -> Services -> HP Print Scan Doctor Service -> disable Win+S -> Task Scheduler -> Task Scheduler Library (drop down arrow) -> HP (drop down arrow) -> HP Print Scan Doctor -> Click event -> Click Properties on right -> Conditions tab -> uncheck Wake Computer for this task I believe your method will work, writing the steps I used if others stumble across this as there's a lot of unhelpful BS online about this right now (this thread didn't exist last time I tried fixing this): I tried unchecking the task's ability to wake the machine from sleep. Update: No, turning off background apps did not stop this task from being scheduled again for a later date. Owner Supplied Reason: Windows will execute 'NT TASK\HP\HP Print Scan Doctor\Printer Health Monitor' scheduled task that requested waking the computer. Owner: \Device\HarddiskVolume2\Windows\System32\svchost.exe (SystemEventsBroker)

It doesn't impact printing, but I wonder if it has some unintended behavioral issues, or isn't even likely to help with random waking up of the PCs. I'm hoping using the windows' app settings for that app to turn off background apps on it will help. I can't seem to find any support article about preventing it, nor any setting in the app that might stop it from doing this every few days.

It doesn't seem like it really needs to since the printer in this case is a network printer mostly doing its own thing. It seems HP Print Scan Doctor is related to the HP Smart windows app and it likes to wake up a PC some time around 4:50pm.
